Connecting Communities, North & South:

Building Momentum for Social Prescribing

Download the AISPN Conference Report here

The conference took place from 11-12 June 2026 in the Fairways Hotel, Dundalk, under the theme ‘Building Momentum for Social Prescribing’.

It followed the AII Ireland Social Prescribing Network’s previous conference held in 2022 in the City Hotel in Derry and marked a next stage in the conversation: from sharing progress and evidence to asking what is needed to sustain, strengthen and scale social prescribing.

The event was promoted widely through the AISPN and was oversubscribed weeks in advance. The level of interest shown is evidence of both the demand for an allisland platform and of the growing confidence that social prescribing has a significant role to play in improving wellbeing, reducing isolation, and strengthening community connection.

Over the two days, 152 participants, 28 speakers, 24 oral presentations, 12 poster presenters and 5 exhibitors gathered to share experiences and plan ahead. The conference hosted; keynote and ministerial addresses, panel discussions, parallel sessions, poster presentations, round table conversations, and evaluation activities.

The result was not just a programme of presentations, but a shared space for learning, challenging, connecting and future planning.
